Train your lower body without placing a heavy load on your spine.
The Belt Squat Belt is designed for maximal comfort on your hips while allowing you to use heavier weights to train your legs. This belt is great for athletes to use in the season to train legs without taxing the entire body. The belt squat belt is also a great way for athletes with back pain to squat without the axial loading that a bar places on the spine (causing back pain to worsen). Belt squats are a great way to take a break from the typical squat routine and still hit your legs hard.
The belt squat belt comes in three sizes: Regular, Medium, and Small.
- The small size is for youth athletes and small-framed adults.
- The regular size is for lifters over 150 lbs
- The medium is best for people who find themselves needing less length than the regular provides. We would recommend the medium size for using with the Barbell Strap.
Belt Squat Belt with Chain, and Carbine Hooks x 2:
This option includes a 2' chain and two, 1" Carbine Hooks.
Can be used with the following type of loading:
- Belt Squat Machine
- Barbell Strap via chain and 2 carbine hooks.
- Loading Kettlebells, regular weights, dumbells and other odd weights via chain and 2 carbine hooks
QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
Need a belt suitable for using on the gym Cutler Belt squat machine. Heavy duty 200kg plus?
Yes the Spud Inc Belt is as heavy-duty as they come.
Hi, is the small version shorter in lenght than the medium one? I'm worried the belt might be too long for my current home setup. Thanks!
The small version is shorter, but it also offers less support across the back. It's mainly used for smaller lifters.
Hi... I’m looking to use this with the Elitefts core blaster. I’m 5.9 short legs 13 stone 32 inch waist, would the medium or regular be better for this set up
We have no experience of using the Elitefts Core Blaster, but looking at videos of it in use I would suggest the medium belt for this setup, this might mean you won't need the use of boxes. If you have boxes however the regular should be fine, as the boxes will allow you to get good depth.
What size does a regular belt fit please. The person I’m buying for is a 42-44 waist
The regular belt is for all lifters that are over 10 stone (63kg). so I would suggest this size.
it is the go-to belt for most lifters. If you were looking for a belt with a little less length, to reduce the range of motion in a specific exercise, then you may opt for the medium belt.
Hi....is this currently in stock and would I need the chains and catabiner for my belt squat machine? Thanks
Yes, this is currently in stock. The Belt has O-rings on the ends, so unless the belt squat machine comes with a mechanism for attaching to these, you would need the chains and carabiner hooks.
I perform belt squats by hooking around the bar on my smith machine. I have to stand on plates to get the depth. I’m 5ft 9in, 176lbs with around a 31in waist. Would I be best buying the medium size? What’s the difference between medium and regular?
Hi, yes I think you would benefit more from using the medium with the setup you have. The difference between the 2 is the overall length.
Hi, I have had issues with my lower back (2 bulging discs and 3 joints wearing out) I need to stop loading my spine with heavy weight. Thinking of ordering a regular belt with chains to start me off. Would this set be suitable, I am 6 foot and 14 stone. Any advice and recommendations would be appreciated.
Hip Belt Squats are ideal for lifting heavy while not loading the spine. I think to start off with what you suggest is great. You may find you need to squat from boxes to get better depth, so may need to consider this if training from home.
When will you be getting the regular Spud belt squat belt back in stock?
Order with Spud Inc has been placed, we are hoping these will be back I stock in the next couple of weeks.
Is it important to ensure that both rings are together joined at the centre of your body by a clip or can you just put a chain through the rings so that they are positioned at the insides of both hips like a standard dipping belt?
It's really up to the individual lifter, the belt has been designed for comfort, having the rings together would guarantee comfort, as the belt would fit around the hips better, the chain approach you suggest maybe just as comfortable, but for some, as the weight adds up, may find the chain digs into the hips a little more.
Hi there, I am not sure if I should get the medium or regular belt squat. I'm going to belt squat 25kg olympic plates using a chain. I am 6'2" 215Ib with a 38.5" waist, 44" hips and 32" inside leg. Please help.
Hi, if you are just going to hang the 25kg weight from the chain, then I think the medium should work just fine. I assume you will be squatting from boxes, otherwise, you might struggle to get any decent range with this set-up.
Hi, could you suggest correct size for the Spud inc Belt Squat Belt please. I'm just under 6ft tall, skinny 11 stone guy with a 32 inch waist. Kind regards John Burston
Most lifters would benefit from using the regular belt, the small is for small lifters, and the medium is for regular lifters that just don't want the strap to be so long, as they have a specific exercise in mind that doesn't need the extra length ( such as using it with the barbell Strap for Hip belt Squats)
What is a maximum weight for this belt I need a belt to last lifting 300/350 front belt squat without breaking
Hi, the Spud Inc Belt Squat Belt is made to a very high quality. Although Spud Inc have not published the maximum load for the belt, it could easily handle weights in excess of 350kg.
Would the medium be OK for use with attaching kettlebell and or olympic plates?? Given the shorter length? What are the dimensions?
The overall length from O-ring to O-ring is 115cm. So you would need to check how this would fit on you. With the 2' chain included, I would think this would work well with kettlebells or Olympic plates, just as long as the O-rings met once the belt was placed around your hips.
Will the medium fit OK for 100kg person? As I see the regular is out of stock. Any idea when it will be back in?? Thanks
The Medium will fit around the hips the same as the regular, however, the length of the straps leading up to the O-rings is less, so it really depends what you plan to use it for. We will have more Regulars arriving in 3-4 weeks time if you would rather wait.
